Dilip Thapa

I'm a software engineer and founder from Nepal.

I spent my early twenties in competitive programming, eventually winning the TopCoder Open First2Finish Championship under the handle veshu. I also serve on the TopCoder Review Board and as a Copilot.

I started my software engineering career at SPI Nepal (acquired by Cognizant), then worked as a team lead at Omnicom Media Group's Nepal office. Later, Deepak Thapa and I started Sursa Technology in Kathmandu- a software agency we built and scaled over seven years.

Along the way, we co-founded Vurilo, a video learning platform that reached 45,000+ users before we shut it down, and I built BuyMeAMomo.org, a donation platform for Nepali creators.

I also authored bun-pty, a widely-used pseudoterminal library for Bun.js.

Now I'm building Humafu, a cloud IDE for distributed engineering teams.

Outside of work, I played state-level basketball and represented Far-Western Development Region at the 5th National Games. These days I enjoy table tennis and chess.
